Barbecue comes in many forms — ribs smoked for hours and slathered in sweet and smoky sauce, slow-cooked brisket covered in a flavorful dry rub, juicy pulled pork or shredded chicken perfect for crafting a delicious sandwich topped with slaw. Fortunately, there are plenty of incredible barbecue restaurants found all around the country that offer everyone the chance to dine on classic dishes.

According to a list compiled by LoveFood, the "best barbecue restaurant" in all of Missouri is was actually a tie between Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City and City Butcher and Barbecue in Springfield. Here's what the site had to say about the best "unmissable" barbecue in the state:

"Arguably the most famous barbecue restaurant in Kansas City, Arthur Bryant's roots stretch as far back as the early 1900s. It's become renowned for its sticky ribs, mouthwatering burnt ends, and brilliant house-made sauces, which you can now buy by the bottle. The sides aren't bad, either, with the coleslaw, potato casserole, and baked beans all must-try dishes."
"Butcher's shop and barbecue joint City Butcher and Barbecue was set up by classically trained chef Cody Smith in 2014. Here, you can get your hands on delicious Central Texas-style barbecue (seasoned with just salt and pepper) — think briskest, burnt ends, ribs, and hot links. Customers say it's on par with Franklin Barbecue in Austin (high praise indeed)."
