The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance


The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee of St. Louis, MO. will be celebrating its observance in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the National Holiday, Monday, January 15, 2018.

Schedule of Events:

9:30am- Civic Ceremony in the Rotunda at Old Court House, 4th and Market St., St. Louis, MO.

  •  Elected Officials, Dignitaries and Concerned Citizens with statements of concern. (historic site where Dred & Harriet Scott Decision was made to free slaves)

  • MLK Recognition Awards to be presented to:
    • Ollie Stewart, Southside Wellness Center
    • Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Center

11:00am- March of Celebration from the Court House through the streets ofdowntown St. Louis to the Interfaith Services at Leonard Baptist Church

12:30pm- Interfaith Service at the Leonard Baptist Church on Compton and Dr. MLK Dr. Service to include community choirs, vocalist, community leaders And clergy. Keynote Exhorter- Colonel John Hayden, St. Louis Police Commissioner.
