When search for a place to settle down and call home, many factors may play into one's decision, such as safety and criminal activity, proximity to incredible restaurants and exciting nightlife, and access to quality health care or education. However, one of the biggest concerns when it comes to finding a home is the price. While there are plenty of more affordable places to live around the state, if you're looking for something a bit more extravagant, it will come with a heftier price tag.

According to a list compiled by Family Handyman, the most expensive neighborhood in all of Missouri is the St. Louis suburb of Ladue and the 63124 zip code, which has a median home value of nearly $1 million. St. Louis was also recently recognized as one of the top travel destinations in the country.

Here's what the site had to say about the most expensive zip code in the state:

"Ladue, the close-in suburb just off St. Louis' western flank, has a median home value of $820,300. The stately town has beautiful old homes and amenities like the 123-year-old St. Louis Country Club."
